KY Gives Day 2025
Tuesday, May 13th
The Appalachian Artisan Center is a nationally recognized organization focused on health and economic development in eastern Kentucky. We empower individuals in recovery from substance abuse by engaging them in artisan work, supporting their transition to meaningful employment.
Our mission also includes promoting quality of life and economic growth through the region’s rich arts, heritage, and culture. We support artists by providing business development resources, training, studio space, and opportunities to exhibit and sell their work which is proudly made throughout the region.

How does your contribution help make a difference?
When you give to the Appalachian Artisan Center, you're doing more than funding a program--you're helping change lives.

At the AAC's Troublesome Creek Stringed Instrument Company, 90% of our luthiers are employed out of our Culture of Recovery program. These jobs support people in addiction recovery by offering meaningful work, mentorship, and creative expression.

This year we are asking for more support than ever before. Nonprofits all over the country are struggling to maintain vital programs due to unprecedented changes in our national budget. Please consider that one in ten Kentuckians working in the private sector work for charitable nonprofits. This generates $27.4 billion in annual expenditures and payroll, according to Kentucky Nonprofit Network.
