Events & Rentals:

As the art hub of Eastern Kentucky, we welcome you to our center with many events for our community, as well as opportunities for you to rent our facilities for your private functions.



Appalachian Artisan Center’s mission is to bring to our community works of the many talented artists from Appalachia. Our exhibitions are free and open to the public.


Dulcimer Museum:

This permanent exhibition of instruments honors many local dulcimer builders and players including Uncle Ed Thomas, Jethro Amburgey, Jean Ritchie, and Homer Ledford. The Museum, at Appalachian Artisan Center, can be viewed during normal business hours.

Thursday Nights:

Family Fun Arts Exploration


is a great way to spend an evening with your family making art! Varying lessons each week, we have young artist arts class and teen/adult ceramics class every week, free of charge!

Every Thursday from 5-6:30 PM

Call us ahead to make sure you have a seat!

Saturday Workshops:

are held most Saturdays.

Events & Rentals

Appalachian Artisan Center hosts various events in the shape of Art Exhibitions, Workshops, Community Meetings, Classes and Rental Opportunities.

Along with our beautiful Conference Room, Art Class Room, Individual Artist Studios, we have a large Rooftop Event Space available for rental for your functions. These state of the art spaces are perfect for small gatherings to larger wedding receptions. Please contact us for more information.




At the Artisan Center, we have beautiful exhibition galleries which host revolving exhibitions throughout the year.


All exhibitions are free of charge.


The curated exhibitions celebrate and promote Appalachia related themes, artists, artisans and arts discipline.
