Under Dan's expert guidance, participants will experience the complete knife-making process:

preparing steel stock, heating metal to precise forging temperatures, shaping the blade through hammer work at the anvil, and understanding heat treatment fundamentals including quenching and tempering. You'll learn proper forge operation, safe tool handling, and the patient rhythms of metalworking that have been passed down through generations of Appalachian craftspeople.
