"Discover the ancient art of blacksmithing in our Blade Forging workshop at the Appalachian Artisan Center in Hindman, Kentucky.
On Saturday, April 18, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, participants will learn the fundamentals of knife forging under the guidance of experienced instructors. Starting with raw steel, you'll shape, heat-treat, and refine your very own custom blade using traditional forging techniques.
This full-day, hands-on experience covers:
Safe use of the forge and blacksmithing tools
Basic blade shaping and forming
Heat treatment and tempering principles
