"Shopping Your Way Across Kentucky features 101 of the best places to shop in the Commonwealth, from furniture to clothing, knick-knacks to jewelry, and everything in between. The majority of the featured shops are privately owned, with some state shops –– no chain stores –– many of which have been in business for decades because of the quality of what they sell and their focus on customer service." |  | The Appalachian Artisan Center Shop is home to an extensive selection of handcrafted items. From pottery to jewelry, furniture to quilts, the rich heritage of the region is reflected in the unique pieces available for purchase. The Artisan Center represents artists from 49 counties of eastern Kentucky. A quality review process has been developed to jury in artists wishing to sell their work through the shop. There are currently over 150 juried members. Every two months, the Center displays the work of a new “Featured Artist”— keeping the palette of the Center fresh and new.
